The University Corporation is a non-profit auxiliary corporation providing commercial and administrative services to California State University, Northridge. Our mission is to provide services and solutions that address the needs of California State University, Northridge; to support the academic, research, and creative endeavors of its students, faculty, and staff; and to enhance the quality of campus life.

    About Strength United

Strength United is a mission-driven nonprofit chartered under California State University, Northridge (CSUN), dedicated to supporting survivors of interpersonal violence across the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. With a team of approximately 70 staff, we serve over 12,000 individuals annually through a comprehensive suite of programs including the Family Justice Center, Child Advocacy Center, Trauma Informed Center, and Rape Crisis Center. Recognized as a Best Place to Work in Southern California for two consecutive years, we are a values-driven organization committed to trauma-informed care, survivor empowerment, and building a sustainable future for our community.

We are actively diversifying our funding streams, expanding fee-for-service programs, and strengthening our financial infrastructure to support long-term sustainability. • Lead all aspects of grant financial compliance and reporting across a complex portfolio of government and foundation funding
    • Manage the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely, accurate submissions
    • Supervise and develop finance staff, building team capacity and establishing strong financial systems and controls
    • Support the organization’s funding diversification strategy, including financial modeling for new fee-for-service revenue streams (CalAIM, school-based services, VOC reimbursable services)
    • Partner with program and operations leaders to build budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide financial guidance at the department level
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations applicable to nonprofit organizations

    Qualifications:
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive nonprofit finance experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or director-level role
    • Deep familiarity with government grant compliance and reporting (federal, state, and county contracts strongly preferred)
    • Experience managing audits and working with external auditors in a nonprofit context
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial audiences
    • Experience supervising finance staff and building or strengthening finance team infrastructure
    • Proficiency in nonprofit accounting software (MIP, QuickBooks Nonprofit, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
    • A collaborative, transparent leadership style and genuine commitment to mission-driven work
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus, though not required
