    *This position will range in salary starting at $45,730.00-$91,134.00/ annually

    Duluth Public Schools is seeking a 1.0 FTE Transportation teacher for the upcoming school year. Courses taught may include auto service and repair, power mechanics, hybrid engines,
    and others. The program has an auto lab and operates the school auto maintenance and repair
    school based enterprise. Teach automotive skills to high school students within a nationally certified program. Programs include Brakes and Engines, Transmissions and Suspension and Advanced. Teacher will direct a technical tutor paraprofessional to supervise and guide students. Teacher will need to be able to effectively plan and deliver lessons, supervise students, communicate with students, families and staff. Teacher will be able to maintain financial records including purchasing supplies and parts, accurately billing customers for service and maintaining all records.

    Qualifications:
    • The teacher will also advise the school's SkillsUSA program. Candidates must have a
      Transportation Careers (300700) teaching license or a relevant industry certification/license, degree, or
      five years of industry experience related to transportation, logistics, distribution, or aviation. Additionally,
      the Work-Based Learning (WBL) endorsement (160000) is preferred but not required.

    • Family Coverage District pays 75% of premium (25% employee contribution) + contributes $5,225.00 into HRA annually

    • Single Coverage District pays 100% of Basic premium (FREE)
    • Family Coverage District pays 25% of Premium

    Life Insurance
    • District provides minimum of $50,000 of life insurance at no cost, employee may purchase supplemental life insurance

    Long Term Disability
    • District-provided at no cost to employee

    Flexible Spending Accounts
    • Employees may elect to contribute on a pre-tax basis to Health Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Accounts

    Retirement
    • The District contributes 7.25% of your total salary in the Public Employees Retirement Association) pension plan.
    • Employees may also elect to participate in Tax-Shelter Annuity options.

    Time Off
    • Each bargaining unit contract defines time off provisions such as holidays, sick/personal leave, vacation, etc.
