The City of Camas is seeking an Engineer I. The position is in the Public Works Department and reports to the Public Works Engineering Project Manager. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
The position is represented by the Camas Public Employees Association (CPEA) and is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes family and domestic partner benefits such as medical, dental, and vision. Retirement benefits are provided through the Washington State Retirement System. Other benefits include life insurance, paid holidays, accrued vacation time, and sick time.
The position is anticipated to focus on a variety of engineering duties supporting public works capital improvement projects in the municipal setting. Desirable skills include: familiarity with roadway and utility design and construction practices; ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; ability to perform construction inspections as assigned, including preparation of daily inspection reports, monthly pay estimates and other related documents; familiarity with land surveying and construction staking practices; ability to use AutoCAD and similar drafting programs; and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, engineering professionals, coworkers and the general public.
