    Overview: Woodland Community College, a proud Hispanic-Serving Institution, serves as a vital hub for educational opportunity and equity in Northern California. Woodland Community College is a comprehensive, open-access community college that operates three instructional sites across three counties, including a 120-acre campus in Woodland, the Colusa County outreach center in Williams, and the Lake County Campus in Clearlake. With a headcount over 7500 students in the 2024-2025 academic year across its three campuses, Woodland Community College continues to meet its commitment to accessibility, equity and comprehensive student support.
    Basic Functions: At Woodland Community College, the Dean of Agriculture, Business and STEM plays a vital role in fostering an educational environment that promotes access, success, and equity for all students. This leadership position is responsible for supervision of faculty and staff in three guided pathway areas of interest: 1) Business, Hospitality and Entrepreneurship, 2) Natural Resources and the Environment, and 3) STEM , Health and Applied Technology. This position also over sees the MESA Program and Strong Workforce and Development. The Dean provides strategic direction with primary responsibilities of schedule development, hiring of staff and both full-time and part-time faculty, evaluation of staff and faculty and managing budgets that support all programs in the division. The Dean helps ensure Woodland Community College remains a place where students can thrive, reach their goals, and transform their futures. Essential Duties Summary Essential Duties Summary Duties:
    • Develop, direct, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the programs, personnel, operations and activities of the division, including program planning, analysis and review.
    • Develop and coordinate the appropriate divisional class schedule, including full-time and adjunct faculty teaching assignments and final examination schedules.
    • Develop and maintain annual budgets for assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Maintain on-going unit divisional plan, which provides for adequate academic employee, classified staff, equipment and facilities, including plans for repair, replacement, modification and refurbishment of facilities and equipment.
    • Lead the hiring processes for full-time and part-time faculty and academic staff in accordance with the College procedures, Board policies and administrative regulations.
    • Coordinate and manage division meetings, and represent the College on District, community and regional committees pertaining to instructional matter.
    • Provide first administrative contact for the resolution of student complaints and grievances. Develop, implement and manage external resources and partnerships, including local, state and federal grants, agreements for services and other collaborations that support student success.
    • Develop, direct, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the programs, personnel, operations, and activities of assigned departments and areas—including program planning, analysis, and review—to ensure compliance with Education Code, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, district policies, and all contractual agreements between the Governing Board and recognized bargaining units.
    • Participate as a regular member of the management group, attending and chairing committees and councils as assigned.
    • Contribute to the implementation of the College’s strategic plan by actively participating in planning and assessment efforts; advancing division and institutional goals related to student success, equity, and completion; and supporting initiatives that promote the socioeconomic mobility of students.

    Required Duties: Demonstrate sensitivity to & understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability & ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Required Qualifications Required Qualifications Education & Experience Requirements:
    The minimum qualifications for service as an educational administrator shall be the following:
    • Possession of a Master’s degree; AND
    • One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment.
    • Experience that indicates sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and personnel.

    • Management and leadership experience
    • Considerable knowledge of regulations and laws related to retention and release of confidential data.
    • Prior experience working with high school and college students
    • Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs

    • Previous experience in a community college or educational system
