    We are seeking a Lodging Assistant II, a journey-level professional responsible for specialized operational support within our Guest Services Team. In this role, you will apply a full range of skills to manage lodging and logistical needs, ensuring the success of critical district programs like the Colorado River Aqueduct (CRA) Inspection Tours.

    Event & Tour Support: Provide essential logistics for special events and CRA Inspection Tours, which are multi-day educational trips showcasing the region's water infrastructure to stakeholders and educators.

    Procurement: Utilize a district p-card to procure necessary items for events, tours, and the maintenance of appliances or equipment.

    Complex Problem Solving: Use professional judgment to interpret and adapt district policies and regulations. You will analyze diverse issues and select the best course of action to resolve conventional operational challenges.

    What You'll Do:
    • Concierge Service will include customer service for inspection trips, special functions and tours for the Board of Directors, member agencies, and others. Secures and maintains inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies.
    • Performs set up and breakdown of equipment and furniture for meetings, special events including museum tours, workshops, and trainings.
    • Receives meals and lodging requests, assigns rooms, creates and delivers room keys.
    • Performs custodial and housekeeping duties which may include making beds, cleaning rooms and halls, dusting, stripping and waxing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets and furniture.
    • Orders supplies and equipment in support of lodging.
    • Performs general maintenance work which may include door lock configurations, minor electrical, basic carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
    • Performs landscaping and operates related equipment.
    • Performs other related Lodging Assistant job duties as required. M ay lift minimum 50lbs when required.
    • Restocking of supplies including vending machines.
    • Escort vendors (such as pest control) to closed areas including lodge, dorms, offices, assembly halls, and airport hangar.
    • Perform monthly inspections of building and grounds including admin office, kitchen, dorm, lodge, and assembly hall.
    • Gather and return fire extinguishers from responsible areas once vendor performs hydrotesting (Yearly).

    This position is located at Metropolitan’s Gene Pumping Plant/Whitsett Intake Pumping Plant located Parker Dam, California. The successful candidate for this position is eligible to rent Metropolitan Water District housing.

    WORK SCHEDULE:
    • (ONSITE) 4/10, Tuesday through Friday. No Hybrid Schedule .
    • MWD Tour Season: September thru May Full-time Tuesday through Friday and overtime weekend hours are required Saturday and Sunday during tour season.

    EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education development test (GED) and four years of relevant experience .

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
    License(s):
    • Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
    • May require forklift certification.
    • May require Food Handler Certification.
