In this role, you will be supporting the overall mission of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). If you are looking for a meaningful, mission driven career, Join FSA! Responsibilities Provides pre-seizure investigative assistance to Special Agents in support of on-going major criminal investigations. Performs complex case-related research by reviewing and analyzing questions at issue and reviewing the facts of the case; prepares summaries and digests of pertinent data, compiles indexes, prepares trial material, and summarizes depositions or other transcripts. Conducts liaison functions between the investigation and the attorney designated to prosecute the case. Reviews the status of cases to determine whether current or proposed actions are sound. May take the lead to achieve the goal of the investigation, assuring the work meets contract and Government requirements and is delivered on time. Creates administrative and technical procedures to accomplish the assigned tasks. Oversee and manage access to LE databases utilized within the AFFI Program Domestic and International Investigations. Remove investigator access, as appropriate, upon separation from the AFFI Program Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Undergraduate degree; or Paralegal Certificate; or High School Diploma/GED and eight-years' paralegal or other law enforcement experience Supervisory or project management experience preferred Experience in conducting research using a variety of automated tools and software Excellent communication skills; oral and written Strong organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to work with minimal supervision Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and other common software applications and databases, advance skills preferred Proven commitment and expertise to provide excellent customer service; positive and flexible; ability to multi-task Ability to work in a team environment, deliver the highest quality of work, and maintain a professional disposition under extreme pressure This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation. Agency Overview The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) plays a critical role in the Asset Forfeiture program by managing and selling assets seized and forfeited by federal law enforcement agencies nationwide. Proceeds generated from asset sales are used to compensate victims, supplement funding for law enforcement initiatives and support community programs. The Marshals Service manages various types of assets, including real estate, vehicles, commercial businesses, cash, financial instruments, jewelry, art, antiques, collectibles, vessels and aircraft.
