LHH in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Family Law Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support a busy family law practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable handling sensitive matters and thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative and legal support in family law matters including divorce, custody, support, and related proceedings
- Draft, review, and format legal documents such as pleadings, motions, financial affidavits, and correspondence
- Assist with discovery, including preparation of requests, responses, and document organization
- Maintain and organize case files and client documentation
- Coordinate court filings in state courts and ensure compliance with deadlines
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional and empathetic manner
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, mediations, and client meetings
- Assist in trial preparation, including exhibits, binders, and case summaries
Qualifications- 2+ years of family law paralegal or legal assistant experience
- Strong understanding of family law procedures and court processes
- Experience drafting legal documents and handling discovery
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with a professional and compassionate approach to client interactions
- Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
