Job Summary: The Sales Tax Division is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer‑focused team member to support the City’s tax administration processes. This role is responsible for processing a variety of tax returns, fees, and permits; preparing accurate monthly reports; monitoring accounts to ensure timely payment; and maintaining business licenses and records. The position also provides front‑line customer service at the counter, by phone, and through email, offering guidance to business owners and community members. Additional duties include mailing notices, scanning returns, collecting register receipts, and assisting with division‑wide backup functions.

The salary range for this position is
$25.76- $36.07 per hour with a hiring range of
$25.76 - $30.92, depending on qualifications and experience.

In this role, you’ll experience a wide range of responsibilities, from processing sales, lodging, and excise tax returns to creating monthly reports with firm deadlines. You’ll help maintain the integrity of our tax system by monitoring accounts, managing licenses and permits, and sending clear, helpful communication to business owners.
You’ll also be part of the public‑facing side of our work, providing friendly customer service at our counter, over email, and by phone. This role includes detailed administrative work and direct connection with the community.

Work schedule: - Full Time - 40 Hours per week.

Essential Functions: - Processing all returns: Sales Tax, Lodging Tax, Fees, BOT, Marijuana Excise Tax.
- Tracking sales for month end reporting.
- Creating monthly reports with hard deadlines.
- Monitoring accounts to ensure payment receipt.
- Managing licenses/permits.
- Mailing out notices and letters to business owners.
- Providing customer service at our window, through email, and phone calls.
- Register receipt collections.
- Scanning returns.
Other Job Functions: - Work closely with third party Fee District, providing reports, customer service, and ensuring compliance.
- Performing back-up functions for others in the Sales Tax Division.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education: - High School graduate or GED required.
- Some college coursework in Finance or related field preferred.
Experience: - 3 years professional office environment or customer service-related industry experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Excellent customer service abilities.
- Strong math skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
- Strong typing and 10 key skills.
- While knowledge of the City of Loveland tax code and Colorado state statutes is beneficial, it is not a requirement. A strong willingness and ability to learn will be key.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: - Frequent m inimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.

- Occasional e xposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
Additional Working Demands / Conditions: - Every quarter for about 2 hours, you will be walking outside and engaging with the business community.
