As a Correctional Officer, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for inmates, staff, and the community. What You'll Do
- Supervise inmate activities to ensure safety and security.
- Process new inmates, including intake paperwork, issuing clothing, and reviewing facility rules.
- Monitor and maintain Control Room logs, answer phones, and welcome visitors.
- Conduct security checks and inspections of cells, common areas, and facility grounds.
- Escort and transport inmates inside and outside the facility.
- Enforce rules and maintain order and discipline.
- Support inmate programs and daily operations.
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and fair in all situations.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to meet job requirements (including a physical agility test).
- A team player who can work with staff, inmates, families, and the public respectfully.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous correctional experience a plus but not required - we provide training!
- Certification as a Correctional Officer in NH or ability to become certified upon hire.
