    As a Correctional Officer, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and respectful environment for inmates, staff, and the community.     What You'll Do

    • Supervise inmate activities to ensure safety and security.
    • Process new inmates, including intake paperwork, issuing clothing, and reviewing facility rules.
    • Monitor and maintain Control Room logs, answer phones, and welcome visitors.
    • Conduct security checks and inspections of cells, common areas, and facility grounds.
    • Escort and transport inmates inside and outside the facility.
    • Enforce rules and maintain order and discipline.
    • Support inmate programs and daily operations.

    What We're Looking For

    • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
    • Ability to remain calm, professional, and fair in all situations.
    • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
    • Physical ability to meet job requirements (including a physical agility test).
    • A team player who can work with staff, inmates, families, and the public respectfully.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous correctional experience a plus but not required - we provide training!
    • Certification as a Correctional Officer in NH or ability to become certified upon hire.
