DESCRIPTION City Manager's Office is now recruiting for the position of Clerk Typist III. THE DEPARTMENT The City Manager's Office is responsible for the administration of all City government departments, except for elective offices and the semi-autonomous departments. Additionally, the City Manager's Office is responsible for City Council support, intergovernmental relations, special events and filming, communication, Offices of Ethics and Transparency, Climate Action and Sustainability, Global Engagement and Protocol, and Equity. THE POSITION The City Manager's Office is recruiting for a full-time, unclassified Clerk Typist Ill, who will provide clerical support in various programs within the City Manager's Office. This position's duties include providing lead clerical support for the administration of the Office of Ethics and Transparency, which includes the Ethics and Public Records Act programs .
EXAMPLES OF DUTIESThe Clerk Typist III will:
- Interacts with and responds to inquiries from City staff in all Departments, the public, vendors, and outside agencies by telephone and email
- Assists with records coordination in response to Public Records Act (PRA) requests
- Provides support for research and benchmarking projects
- Provides creative support for the Ethics Education Program
- Attends monthly meetings of the Ethics Commission and provides administrative support as needed
REQUIREMENTS TO FILE MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS - The ability to type accurately at a net speed of 40 words per minute and perform basic clerical and office support duties.
- The ability to work cooperatively with others and the public.
- The ability to file in alphabetical and numerical order and perform clerical detail, which includes making simple mathematical computations and correcting error in grammar, spelling and punctuation.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of progressively responsible clerical experience, including frontline customer service interactions.
- Extensive experience using a personal computer and business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro).
- Bilingual Spanish Skills are highly desirable.

- Ability to be punctual, flexible, and maintain a positive attitude.
