Civilian Elementary Education Engagement Specialist. This is a part-time, non-exempt position with no benefits along with no ASRS pension system. The anticipated work schedule is between Monday - Friday, 8am - 3pm, and work hours are limited 19 or less hours per week. This position provides direct education and support within the elementary and middle schools of Chandler Unified School District.

The organization is divided into three main divisions, one bureau, and many sections/units. The Patrol Operations Division consisting of three precincts, 1) Main Station - Downtown & North Chandler, 2) Desert Breeze - West Chandler, and 3) Chandler Heights - South Chandler, work in concert with the Criminal Investigations Division, Operational Support Division, and Professional Services Division to meet the needs of the community. Who we are looking for Our ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. The ideal candidate has an outgoing personality, positive attitude and can establish priorities and manage multiple tasks. In addition, we need our personnel to be able to instruct elementary education law related classes to primarily 6 th grade elementary students. The new team members must also possess the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as a part of a team.
Minimum qualifications - Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- Must possess at least 2-years prior work experience as a sworn law enforcement officer or retired law enforcement officer; and, must have left in good standing and must no longer be employed as a sworn officer with any law enforcement agency.
- Must possess or be able to attain a valid Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record; and
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work will be considered.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony, a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence, or have received a dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces.
Desired Qualifications - Experience working as a former Drug Resistance Education Officer (D.A.R.E), School Resource Officer (S.R.O.) or;
- Having a General Instructor certification in your state along with any instruction to law enforcement personnel and or civilians or;
- Experience instructing classes for K-12 or college
Supervision Work is performed under the supervision of a Police Sergeant or designated supervisor. This position does not supervise others.
