    Position: AN/SQQ-89 SONAR Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer


    Nature of Role: MIKEL is seeking a mid to senior-level professional to lead and execute test and evaluation (T&E) initiatives for NUWC Division Newport, Code 15 Sensors and SONAR. This role focuses on validating system performance through rigorous testing and analysis to ensure solutions meet mission requirements.


    Responsibilities:


    Include but are not limited to:

    • Lead and execute Performance Verification Testing (PVT) and Government Independent Verification and Validation testing (GIV&V) for undersea warfare components to verify technical specifications.
    • Oversee the technical operation and evaluation of the AN/SQQ-89 SONAR system during developmental and experimental test phases.
    • Coordinate with AEGIS Combat System engineers to verify successful data integration and sensor interoperability.
    • Utilize the U.S. Navy Preventative Maintenance System (PMS) and Combat System Operational Sequencing System (CSOSS) to maintain strict configuration control.
    • Draft comprehensive test reports and technical documentation to communicate findings to Department of Defense stakeholders.

    Requirements:

    • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance; clearance is required at the time of hire.
    • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.
    • Ability to travel up to 15%of the time to support off-site testing at sea or at vendor facilities.

    Experience:

    • Professional: 12-15 years of direct experience in AN/SQQ-89 SONAR system operations
    • Education(Preferred):Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and military technical experience.

    Work Location: On-Site Lockheed Martin - Manassas, Virginia
