    Job Title: Chief of Police
    Location: Town of Cokeville, Wyoming
    Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 annually (based on experience)
    Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

    Position Overview

    The Town of Cokeville is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief of Police to lead its law enforcement operations. The Chief of Police will oversee all aspects of the Police Department, including administration, patrol, investigations, community engagement, and personnel management. This position plays a vital role in maintaining public safety, upholding the law, and fostering a strong relationship between the department and the community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, direct, and supervise all departmental operations and personnel.
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Manage the department budget and ensure efficient use of resources.
    • Promote community policing initiatives and positive citizen relationships.
    • Coordinate with local, county, state, and federal agencies.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations.
    • Prepare and present reports to the Town Council.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required, higher education in criminal justice, public administration, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, including supervisory or command-level experience.
    • Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community groups.
    • Valid Wyoming driver's license (or ability to obtain one).

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Annual salary: $55,000-$65,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
