POSITION PURPOSE
The Trust Employee Benefits Officer is responsible for the administration and oversight of employee benefit trust accounts in accordance with governing documents, applicable regulations, and fiduciary standards. This role ensures that retirement plans and benefit trusts are administered accurately, compliant and in alignment with client objectives while maintaining strong relationships with plan sponsors advisors, and internal partners.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree (B.B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Law Degree, or related field preferred. Professional certifications preferred but not required: Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), or other similar designations.
Required Knowledge: Deep understanding of ERISA, Department of Labor, and IRS regulations regarding employee benefit plans.
Experience Required: 2-4 years of experience in 401(K) plan administration, trust administration, or retirement services required.
Skills/Abilities: Solid understanding of qualified retirement plans, trust accounting, and ERISA compliance.
Familiarity with retirement plan platforms (e.g., Relius, Ascensus, FIS, EPIC, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/reporting tools.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions and to deal with ordinary, standardized situations.
Mathematics Ability: Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two-digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard; ounce, and pound (or their metric counterparts).
Language Ability: Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,000-6,000 words; read at a slow rate; and define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation. Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and using adjectives and adverbs. Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present and past tenses and good vocabulary.
