    The Coordinator of International & Military Services provides administrative coordination and student support for both military-connected and international students at the University of Mary. The position assists active-duty service members, veterans, military dependents, and international students in navigating university processes, government regulations, and educational resources.
    This role supports military students in understanding and accessing education benefits and assists international students with immigration documentation, university processes, and transition to campus life in the United States. The Coordinator serves as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for the institution and helps ensure institutional compliance with federal immigration laws and SEVIS reporting requirements. The Coordinator works collaboratively with campus departments to promote a supportive and welcoming experience for military-connected and international students.
    Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.

    Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
    • Coordinate services for international students including visa documentation, immigration requirements, and institutional processes such as issuance and maintenance of Form I-20, enrollment verification, and monitoring student status.
    • Provide guidance and support to active-duty service members, veterans, and military dependents regarding military education benefits, tuition assistance, and university policies. Assist students with benefit applications, enrollment verification, and maintaining eligibility requirements.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to both military and international student services, including database management, reporting, and coordination with offices such as the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Admissions.
    • Serve as the Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) responsible for SEVIS management and ensuring institutional compliance with federal immigration regulations governing international students. Maintain accurate SEVIS records, process required updates and ensure proper reporting to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
    • Assist international students with the transition to campus life, including orientation support, employment eligibility guidance, cultural adjustment, and referrals to campus resources.
    • Coordinate preparation for compliance reviews related to military education benefits or international student programs, including preparation of documentation and follow-up actions related to findings or recommendations.
    • Participates in staff meetings, training programs, taskforce meetings, and collaboration with other departments as needed.
    Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience Include:
    • Required: Bachelor's Degree
    • Preferred: Master's degree
    • Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
    • Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Enrollment Services and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict's admonition that all be received as Christ.
    Knowledge and Skills Required:
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems. Experience interpreting policies, maintaining accurate records, and working with confidential information is preferred.
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively support students from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
    • Knowledge of services, benefits, and resources available to active-duty service members, veterans, and military dependents.
    • Knowledge of federal immigration regulations governing international students, including F-1 visa requirements and SEVIS reporting.
    • Understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) and institutional compliance requirements related to international student programs.
    • Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations, institutional policies, and government program guidelines.
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage detailed documentation and maintain accurate records.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information appropriately.
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and utilize student information systems and government reporting systems such as SEVIS.
