Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience
OverviewLHH is partnering with agrowing family law firm in Chicago to identify a detail-oriented and compassionate
Family Law Legal Assistant. This position supports attorneys in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is well suited for someone who is highly organized, deadline-driven, and professional when communicating with clients during sensitive family law matters.
Responsibilities- Provide daily administrative and legal support to family law attorneys
- Draft, revise, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case files
- Complete Cook County e-filings via Odyssey eFileIL, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local court rules
- Track filings, court notices, and confirmations
- Communicate with clients in a professional, courteous, and discreet manner
- Prepare and organize documents for hearings, mediations, and trials
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems
- Assist with billing, time entry, and general office support as needed
Qualifications- 2+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in family law
- Working knowledge of Cook County court procedures and e-filing (Odyssey eFileIL)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
