    Position Description

    The County is seeking the services of Hearing Officers . Hearing Officers conduct hearings for Administrative appeals, assigned to them by the County Administrative Office in regard to, for example, Code Violations, requested by an Appellant. The Hearing Officer will be responsible for providing a Written Decision that includes the findings of fact and conclusions of law.

    The County of Fresno is seeking to enter up to five (5) Hearing Officer contracts. Contracted Hearing Officers would hear appeals only as and if needed. Contracted Hearing Officers are not guaranteed any work. The hourly rate is $275/Hr. and will only be paid for services rendered. Selected applicants will sign a Service Agreement with the County for a term of four (4) years.     Minimum Qualifications

    2.81.050 - Qualifications of County Hearing Officer.

    A. hearing officer shall have the qualifications stated in California Government Code Section 27724.

    B. hearing officer shall maintain an active license to practice law in the state of California continuously during his or her term of office.

    C. Failure by a hearing officer to satisfy the requirements of section 2.81.050.B following his or her appointment shall automatically revoke a hearing officer's appointment to serve. A hearing officer shall immediately notify the county administrative officer of his or her failure to satisfy the requirements of section 2.81.050.B.
