Responsibilities

What you'll do
- Inspect, test, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair industrial instrumentation and process control systems to ensure continuous and reliable plant operations
- Set up and use PLCs, SCADA and telemetry systems, process controllers, and diagnostic tools to identify and correct control system issues
- Work with electrical systems up to 480-volt three-phase AC and 700-volt DC to support facility operations and equipment reliability
- Diagnose instrumentation and control malfunctions independently and determine effective corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Use laptops, meters, transmitters, oscilloscopes, and related equipment to maintain accurate system performance

Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of experience as an electronics technician or telecommunications technician; OR an Associate's degree or its equivalent in electronics and 1 year of related experience. May be required to possess valid state-issued drivers license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.
Preference given to applicants with experience in industrial electronics, including troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem resolution; a certificate in Industrial Electronics or Instrumentation and Control; Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience and programming; and/or experience working with CAD software.
