The City of Santa of Santa Fe Springs is seeking a highly-motivated individual for the position of Facility Maintenance Specialist. This is a Full-Time position in the Public Works Department.

POSITION PURPOSE: Under direct supervision, performs maintenance and repair of all City facilities.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives direct supervision from the Facility Lead Worker and/or Facility Section Supervisor.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Provides functional direction to lower-level facility maintenance staff.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Held in Common:- Supports the Mission of the City and its Elected and Appointed Officials.

B. Essential Job Specific Duties:- Performs building maintenance and repair tasks work for City facilities.
- Performs work in plumbing, carpentry, painting, tile, concrete, electrical trades , & minor HVAC repairs.
- Performs construction work for City construction projects.
- Follows safety rules, regulations, and practices.
C. Other Job Specific Duties- Responds to emergency calls.
- Maintains a variety of records and logs; prepares reports.
- Communicates with contractors, city employees, and the general public.
- Performs related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: The following requirements generally demonstrate possession of the minimum requisite
knowledge and ability necessary to perform the duties of the position. A typical way to obtain these would be:
- High School Diploma or an equivalent certificate or diploma recognized by the State of California; trade school course work in a related field preferred.
- Three (3) years experience in construction and maintenance; experience in public facility maintenance preferred.
- A valid State of California driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- State General Contractor's license preferred.
NEPOTISM POLICY: Relatives may be appointed regardless of the designation of full or part-time classification.
