The Sheriff's Department is recruiting for Sheriff's Food Services Supervisors who under general direction, supervise the preparation of food at a Sheriff's institutional facility; supervise and participate in the work of food service staff; perform related duties as required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background: Prior to appointment, applicants will be fingerprinted and must pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony.
Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.
Shift: Applicants must be available for all shifts; incumbents will be required to work rotating shifts, or be on call for work, on weekends, holidays, and evenings, including mandatory overtime; refusal of assigned shift may result in removal from the list or termination.
Location : Incumbents may be required to work at any of the Sheriff's correctional/institutional facilities located in Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino or the High Desert, and all candidates must indicate their willingness to work at any location.
Certificate: Must possess a County Food Handler certificate at time of hire or Incumbents must obtain a San Bernardino County Food Handlers Certificate within two weeks of appointment.
Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following options:
Option A: Two (2) years of full-time experience overseeing food preparation in a correctional institution.
Option B: Two (2) years of full-time experience cooking food for a large number of persons in an institutional, hospital, military, large commercial kitchen, or similar setting which includes one (1) year of supervisory or management experience .
Desired Qualifications
Supervisory or management experience in a correctional setting, full service restaurant, food processing plant, or cafeteria that includes writing schedules, menu planning, and coordinating events is highly desired.

The most highly qualified candidates, based on the evaluation results, will be referred for an interview.
