What you'll do
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of a diverse recreation program curriculum that meets community needs and aligns with department goals.
- Supervise and support part-time recreation leaders, staff, and volunteers by assigning work, monitoring performance, and providing input on evaluations and training needs to ensure high-quality program delivery.
- Serve as a liaison between the community center, partner agencies, and neighborhood organizations, leading outreach efforts to increase awareness, participation, and engagement.
- Support day-to-day program and facility operations by managing logistics, monitoring safety, and ensuring programs and events run smoothly.
- Perform essential administrative work, including preparing reports, maintaining records, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring documentation meets City standards.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with participants, guardians, and the public, resolving concerns when possible and escalating issues appropriately.

REQUIRES- An accredited Bachelor's degree; OR high school graduation and 4 years of experience in recreation management, community programming, sports management, wildlife management, arts programming, or therapeutic recreation.
- Must pass a preemployment drug screen as prescribed by the City.
- May be required to possess a valid State-issued driver's license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
