Position DescriptionTacoma Power's Transmission and Distribution (T&D) division is looking for a Fleet & Facilities Manager to join their team!
The Fleet & Facilities Manager is responsible for managing fleet maintenance and operations, facility and fleet systems, and facilities operations, including multiple functions such as custodial, maintenance and equipment inspection and testing.
Responsibilities Include:- Meet with internal customers and vendors to coordinate and organize the purchase and/or replacement of motor vehicles and other identified equipment as outlined in the fleet replacement schedule.
- Develop technical specifications for vehicles and equipment based on the operational requirements of the various operating units within Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) while exercising good judgment; innovation; fiscal responsibility; and conducting research.
- Oversee and review maintenance activities in shop, perform spot checks for quality assurance and best practice compliance.
- Track key shop activities to assure optimum productivity, shop loading and strategic priorities remain the focus so that data is clean and ready for benchmark with other utility fleets.
- Review and edit data in SAP for accuracy and completeness, set up custom user fields, create variants and macros using a creative and innovative approach for the efficient use of the system by assigned staff.
- Supervises a work unit: manages work scheduling, deliverables and quality control; conducts performance evaluations, coordinates training; and implements hiring and discipline/termination procedures.
- Develops project plans, schedules and budgets; manages deliverables, identifying and monitoring progress toward project goals; coordinates project efforts; coordinates cross-functional project teams; creates project standards; and manages project budgets.
- Develops performance metrics, policies and procedures; evaluates current and/or proposed policies, practices and metrics to determine effectiveness; ensures compliance to policies, practices and regulations.
- Participates in budget development and procurement; monitors and administers budgets, revenues and expenditures; leads or participates in procurement processes; approves or recommends purchases.
- As assigned, serves as responsible emergency management official; coordinates drills; participates in the development or develops security plans, policies and training documentation.
- Researches and makes recommendations for building and equipment security; establishes working relationships with law enforcement personnel.
Qualifications Minimum Education* Bachelor's degree (may prefer/require Master's degree)
Minimum Experience* 5 years of facility or related operational maintenance experience including 1 year prior at senior, lead and/or supervisory level

Annual Salary: $122,096.00 - $171,953.60
