    Role: Safety Engineer Client: Defense-Aerospace Pay Rate: up to $74/hr (W2, non-benefited) Length: 6-month contract Location: Tewksbury, MA Clearance: Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. Description: * Assisting with and implementing one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs
    * Performing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400).
    * Assisting with analysis of engineering hardware and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance
    * Working with test and tactical operating and maintenance procedures to assure the proper administrative controls are in place
    * Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
    * Provide creative solutions to maximize safety functionality without impeding critical performance.
    * Responsibilities to Anticipate:
    * Assist with design of concise, testable safety requirements or providing safety analysis of existing requirements
    * Assist with performing System Safety Program or Design analyses
    * Collaborating with other disciplines during program technical execution,
    * Interfacing with key stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)
    * Assisting in preparation of Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval
    * Assisting with briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
    * Reviewing Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military
    * standards
    * Assisting in preparation internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program Required Skills & Experience: * Experience with Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical or Firmware Engineering. Desired Skills & Experience: * Experience with DoD System Safety Programs e.g. MIL-STD-882 / DO-178
    * Experience with system and software safety implementation in Agile Development environment
    * Experience interfacing with Human Systems Integration showcasing execution of Human Factors Engineering tasking involving MIL-STD-1472.
    * Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development
