    69-26 Traffic Technician I: This position is part of a progression plan with defined pay increases as you gain skills and knowledge through on-the-job training as well as specific certifications and licenses. Perform entry level and assist in advanced set up of traffic control equipment and perform a variety of technical and manual tasks relative to ensuring that all traffic control devices and management systems are installed/configured, maintained and operated to function properly and safely. Construct and maintain warning signs and barricades around work zones according to MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) guidelines and to perform traffic control for special events or activities in the City. All positions report directly to the assigned Traffic Control Crew Chief.

    Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. Experience in traffic control operations relating to the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of various traffic control devices is preferred; basic electrical knowledge is preferred. Must obtain Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification within six months of hire, training in National Incident Management System (NIMS) within six months of hire, must obtain OSHA 10 card within six months of hire and must obtain IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Tech within one year of hire.

    Starting rate: $15.64 per hour DOQ plus comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401k, Annual leave, Sick leave, Holidays, and Personal Days. Completed City of Stillwater application required for consideration.
