Job Location: Police Department, City of Zephyrhills

Salary Range: Starting Salary: $57,018.27 / $26.11/hr. Pay Grade Z-161. Non-Exempt / Mandatory Testing

Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Applicable

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Florida Law Enforcement Certified required. (May also consider out-of-state law enforcement certified and requiring an Equivalency Certificate from the State of Florida, Corrections Certified and requiring a Crossover Corrections to Law Enforcement Certification.)
  • Applicant must be able to meet the requirements for certification as outlined in Florida State Statutes 943.13.
  • Ability to maintain and submit accurate reports.
  • Must have the ability to get along well with others and be of a temperament, which enables them to handle emergency situations without excitement or panic.
  • Must be trustworthy, dependable, honest and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Applicant must be able to work all shifts and be in good physical condition.

Brief Description Of Duties:

  • Performs general duty police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances.
  • Routine patrol work in an assigned area, preliminary investigation and miscellaneous duties incidental thereto performed in accordance with departmental rules and regulations.
  • Exercise initiative and discretion when faced with emergency conditions.

Examination & Physical Agility Test Date: To be announced. May include written, oral, performance, computerized, interview, and/or any combination. Regularly check your email (including junk/spam folder) and telephone messages for notifications. The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on proven abilities of the individual selected.
