    About the Role - The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of previous dispatcher experience in INTERMODAL transportation and/or logistics, good customer service, and be able to work on-site, Monday through Friday, 8a-5p. This role is a multi-faced role that will work with the Terminal Manager as backup to other team members during peak business periods, and as needed. Previous experience with international ports is a plus!

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Communicating with drivers to provide them with accurate and up-to-date delivery instructions, address any concerns or emergencies, and monitor progress throughout the assigned delivery routes.
    • Tracking and monitoring the location of drivers and their progress using ELD tracking systems or other applicable tools.
    • Acting as a point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal staff, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service. Will act as backup to customer service representative in times of heavy volume or periods of absence by the CSR.
    • Maintaining accurate and organized records related to deliveries, including driver logs, delivery schedules, and any deviations or incidents that may occur.
    • Continuously monitoring and assessing driver performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing feedback and training as necessary.
    • Will be required to collaborate with the Terminal Manager on driver training.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8a-5p in the terminal office.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick and efficient decisions with little supervision, must be able to exercise independent judgement and critical thinking to resolve load and customer issues.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
    • Proficient in using dispatch and tracking software, as well as ELD systems (Samsara Preferred).
    • Understanding of transportation regulations and industry best practices, demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA standards.
    • The ability to remain calm and composed during high-pressure situations, ensuring effective resolution of issues and maintaining a positive working environment.
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a demanding environment.
    • Available to work every other weekend, to rotate "on-call" dispatch duties for driver calls. May also be asked to work occasional evenings as dictated by the needs of the terminal.

    Key Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in logistics or transportation is preferred).
    • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience as a Dispatcher or similar role in the trucking or logistics industry.
    • At least 1-2 years of International Port experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer or speaking with driver contractors via telephone, MS Teams, and in person, where applicable.
    • Must be able to lift to 30 lbs. without assistance as part of the regular duties of the position.
    • Must be able to periodically walk up a flight of stairs, stand, bend, and stoop while reaching for contractor files.
    • Demonstrated ability to stay focused in a fast paced, sometimes noisy work environment.

    Pay range and compensation package:

    • $52k to $55k/year DOE
    • Full health benefits package after 30 days of employment (medical/dental/vision)
