The Dougherty County Juvenile Court is hiring for an Associate Judge. Works with local school systems, district attorney's offices, public defender's offices, mental health providers and stakeholders in the community to provide the services, supervision, resources and representation as required by statute. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Essential tasks include supervising, directing, and evaluating assigned staff; coordinating and reviewing work; conducting hearings; participating in organizations and events; speaking and making presentations to community organizations and schools; serving in the absence of the Juvenile Court Judge; and performing related work as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include a Juris Doctorate, five (5) years of legal experience, participation in yearly training as set out in O. C. G. A. 15- 11- 21, and not engaging in any practice of law in any Juvenile Court pursuant to O. C. G. A. 15- 11- 18(g).
