    Flight Follower Lead

    The Flight Following Lead will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of the Flight Following Department on a daily basis. The Flight Following Lead must be a current, qualified Flight Follower on the Seniority List.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Help with the implementation and maintenance of a quality assurance process for the Flight Following department that will identify any changes that will enhance quality, reliability and safety;
    • Assists in the execution of random audits to help identify weaknesses to enhance quality, reliability, and safety within the Flight Following Department.
    • Work in conjunction with the Flight Following Trainer designing and developing an ever changing training program
    • Supervise Flight Followers during the shift offering support, guidance and solutions;
    • Assist with the coordination of all duty schedules for Flight Followers to ensure coverage is sufficient for the scheduled operations (sick days, vacations, etc.) and distribute the workload evenly;
    • Ensures Flight Followers are performing duties to effectively plan flights and exercise operational control.
    • Reviews airport suitability for ADHOC charters and administers guidance to the Flight Followers in areas of flight planning, performance and database updates.
    • Encourage effective communication with all departments in OCC.;
    • Monitor ETOPS Airport Suitability, weather trends and airport NOTAMS to ensure safety.
    • Maintain detailed shift notes of irregularities and be prepared to assist in CAPA responses for ETQ Reliance;
    • Assists with providing payload forecasting to customers and sales.
    • Monitors significant weather events and airspace closures and coordinates with other departments to revise routing and/or flight schedule.
    • Provide Flight Follower coverage when necessary;
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education and/or Experience:

    High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable. FAA Dispatcher's certificate is required. A minimum of one (1) year experience as a fully qualified Flight Follower in an FAR 121 Operations Control Center, with substantial international operations is required.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to convert between different units of measure.

    Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to use a computer terminal, telephone and 10-key calculator.
