    IT Consultant

    We are seeking a part-time IT Consultant with recent experience working within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or one of its component agencies (e.g., CBP, ICE, USCIS, FEMA, TSA). This strategic role will support in identifying, shaping, and pursuing DHS opportunities that align with our core IT capabilities.

    The ideal candidate will bring deep insight into DHS mission (or its sub agencies) priorities, procurement processes, and stakeholder engagement, helping expand its footprint within the department.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic guidance on DHS IT initiatives and upcoming opportunities.
    • Identify and qualify potential DHS contracts that align with the teams capabilities.
    • Support capture and proposal development efforts through technical insight and agency knowledge.
    • Facilitate introductions and meetings with DHS stakeholders and decision-makers.
    • Advise on DHS procurement trends, acquisition strategies, and competitive landscape.
    • Collaborate with the teams business development and technical teams to shape winning solutions.

    Qualifications:

    • Recent experience working at DHS or one of its component agencies.

    • Strong understanding of DHS IT priorities, programs, and procurement processes.
    • Proven ability to engage with federal stakeholders and influence acquisition strategies.
    • Familiarity with cloud services, cybersecurity, data analytics, and emerging technologies (AI/ML, GenAI).
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work independently and provide strategic input on a flexible, part-time basis.

    Preferred Background:

    • Former federal employee or contractor with DHS experience.
    • Experience supporting IT modernization, cloud migration, or enterprise application development.
    • Existing network within DHS or relevant federal IT communities.
