- Respond on site to accidents and other emergencies involving injuries and illnesses.
- Perform initial patient assessment and physical examinations.
- Establish communications with the receiving facility.
- Respond to fire alarms and emergency calls.
- Combat fires and rescue personnel on ships and vessels.
- Perform duties as a Hazardous Materials Technician.
- Identify and classify unknown hazardous materials.
- Perform vessel and structural inspections.
- Inspect ammunition vessels for compliance with safety regulations.
- Drive and operate fire trucks, emergency response vehicles and hazmat vehicles to site of fires, accidents and hazardous material emergencies.
