This role will support complex technology modernization initiatives focused on improving mission performance, operational efficiency, decision support, and service delivery.The Senior Cloud and Technology Modernization SME will provide technical leadership, strategic guidance, and solution-oriented recommendations to support secure, scalable, and mission-focused technology solutions. This position will work closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and program leadership to help assess modernization opportunities, evaluate technical approaches, and support implementation planning aligned with Government objectives.Due to the nature of Aretum's work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information and must adhere to all applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.ResponsibilitiesProvide senior-level technical expertise in Federal IT modernization, cloud architecture, software engineering, intelligent automation, and digital transformationSupport the identification and evaluation of technology-enabled approaches that improve mission performance, operational efficiency, decision support, and service deliveryAdvise senior stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.Shape scalable, secure, and low-risk technology solutions that align with Government priorities, security expectations, mission needs, and operational requirementsLead or advise cloud, platform, application, and solution modernization efforts, including hybrid cloud transformation, software development, and technical strategySupport modernization planning, solution assessment, technical demonstrations, and implementation readiness activitiesApply intelligent automation, AI-enabled capabilities, data analytics, customer experience, and platform development approaches to improve workflows, decision support, and mission outcomesAssess technical feasibility, risks, dependencies, security and privacy considerations, and transition approaches associated with modernization initiativesCollaborate with Government stakeholders, technical teams, program leadership, and cross-functional partners to support modernization planning and executionProvide strategic recommendations that support innovation, operational improvement, and long-term technology transformationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related fieldAbility to obtain DHS clearance is requiredActive Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationFifteen or more years of experience in Federal IT modernization, technology management, software engineering, cloud architecture, digital transformation, or related technical areasTen or more years of experience providing technical leadership for medium or large multi-task projects of high complexity in a Federal environmentDemonstrated experience leading cloud, platform, application, or solution modernization efforts, including hybrid cloud transformation, software development, and technical strategyExperience supporting modernization planning, proof-of-concept development, technical demonstrations, solution assessments, or innovation activitiesExperience applying intelligent automation, AI-enabled capabilities, data analytics, customer experience, and platform development approaches to improve workflows, decision support, and mission outcomesExperience assessing technical feasibility, risks, dependencies, security and privacy considerations, and transition approaches associated with modernization initiativesBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time OffFamily Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Short Term & Long-Term DisabilityTraining & DevelopmentEEO StatementAretum is committed to fostering a workplace rooted in excellence, integrity, and equal opportunity for all.
