    Job Duties

    Provide professional consultations on a broad range of difficult technical issues and problems related to hydropower facilities.

    Develop inspection, maintenance, and repair standards for hydropower equipment.

    Provide professional technical guidance to other employees involved in hydropower engineering processes.

    Serve as the field engineering Point of Contact (POC) for other districts, divisions, and customers on hydropower engineering matters.

    Review architectural and engineering statements of work and prepare project time schedules and cost estimates.

    Provide technical review of design calculations, analyses, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project objectives.

    Coordinate all design phases with cognizant managers and staff elements.

    Serve as technical representative for negotiation and administration of contracts.

    Plan, organize, coordinate, and review the work of other engineers and technicians to ensure the effective achievement of engineering tasks.

    Analyze project proposals submitted by installations and organizations; recommend changes and/or approve proposals.

    Evaluate programs and projects to assure compliance with all environmental, energy use, safety, and security standards.

    Establish performance standards and make evaluations for directly supervised subordinate positions.

    Articulate and communicate to engineers and team members their roles, functions, and project milestones.

    Advise management officials of higher rank on technical and programmatic matters.

    Serve on committees to evaluate and update engineering criteria.

    Exercise significant responsibilities in dealing with officials of other units or organizations.
