Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians are highly trained professionals responsible for safeguarding public safety and security by detecting, assessing, and safely neutralizing explosive devices and hazardous materials. The EOD Technician will provide EOD support to ECON and MU personnel when access to the G-10 impact area (or other impact areas) is needed for the Eastern Diamondback Snake (EDB) and Red Cockaded Woodpecker (RCW) survey projects. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians play a crucial role in safeguarding lives and property, and their dedication to precision, safety, and constant readiness is essential in maintaining public security and countering explosive threats.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Pay Range for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician: $35/hr
Pay commensurate with experience.
This is a part-time position.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician Responsibilities Include:
- Provide EOD escorting service to survey group.
- Surveys are generally performed on weekends (Friday through Sunday, or Saturday through Monday), sporadically throughout the year but more regularly from April through July.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines to protect oneself and team members during high-stress and high-risk operations
- Maintain detailed records of all operations, including disposal procedures, for investigative purposes and regulatory compliance
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Extensive training and certification in explosive ordnance disposal.
- Strong technical skills, including the use of specialized equipment and robotics.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical fitness and the capacity to work in challenging and hazardous environments.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and coordination.
- A commitment to safety and the highest ethical standards in all operations.
- Strict adherence to safety procedures and protocols to mitigate risks associated with handling explosives and hazardous materials.
- Ability to assess the composition and potential threat of explosive devices, determining the best approach for rendering them safe.
- Quick thinking and effective problem-solving skills, especially in high-stress situations.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all operations, including disposal procedures, for documentation and investigative purposes.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
