We do state-of-the-art work and have a cadre of outstanding professionals on our team.The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.JOID assists the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in developing leading edge technologies to counter WMD in support of Combatant Commands (CCMDs) and transitioning these technologies to military services and Combatant Commanders (COCOMs). SPA provides expertise across the full range of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) WMD, Counter Improvised Threat and Countering Threat Network technologies to support understanding, detection, identification, characterization, denial, control, disabling, defeating, disposing, safeguarding the force, managing consequences, and test and evaluation in support of military and civilian operations.We have an immediate need for a Military Operations Analyst to provide onsite support at DTRA in Lorton, VA.ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will provide subject matter expertise and analytical and technical support to the full spectrum of nuclear and radiation detection RDT&E projects as applied to military operations. Integrate tactical/operational knowledge of DoD organizations (i.e., roles, missions, and structure), technical development and implementation of radiation detection capabilities, and methods for employing materiel assets to assist clients in defining, understanding, and recommending senior decision maker courses of action. Identify relevant technical system characteristics, requirements, and integration of radiation detectors and sensors in appropriate common operating picture platforms. Assist with identifying, developing, and evaluating technical/programmatic measures of effectiveness and risk-based assessments. Advise and conduct the integration of hardware, software, and organizational procedures and components. Advise and support customer training, development, and documentation of demonstration test protocols for measurement sensors and systems. Assist with requirements traceability in testing and development of new systems or updates to existing systems to meet client needs. Identify and recommend emergent relevant technologies that may result in improvements to radiation detection capabilities. Provide advice and assistance with contract source selection decisions. Support important technical interface client engagements, responsible for the quality, quantity, and timeliness of contracted work required to satisfy a range of technical performance including nuclear technologies, weapons systems, emerging WMD threats, hazard prediction and mitigation, and detection systems. Assist program managers with contract management items such as acquisition package development, contract performance evaluation, and deliverables quality and acceptability assessment.Travel: (10-30%) may be required.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in relevant technical, scientific, or engineering fields or equivalent experience.10+ years of experience leading to a strong understanding of the primary subcomponents of radiation detection technologies, and understanding of how data from individual sensors may be integrated with other networked sensors to form a more complete picture of the operating environment; experience demonstrating radiation detectors and sensors.Experience with DoD regarding concept of operation, policy, doctrine, plans, training, exercises, research, development, test, and evaluation (RDTE).Experience working with interagency teams that include DoD, other Federal agencies, industry, and National Laboratories.Ability to translate requirements and observations into clearly defined written products (briefings, reports, white papers).Active Secret clearance to start and able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.Able to work fully onsite based on client needs.Desired:Master's degree in relevant technical, scientific, or engineering fields.Active TS/SCI clearance.5+ years of experience in military operations.Background in physics, nuclear, or electrical engineering.#J-18808-Ljbffr
