    OverviewThe Asian Security and Technology intern at the American Enterprise Institute will conduct research in support of Fellow Ryan Fedasiuk. The Asian Security and Technology portfolio focuses on US defense policy and security issues in the Indo-Pacific, including U.S.-China technology competition, China's approach to industrial policy, and integrating policy and innovation.Key responsibilities may include:Monitoring key developments in critical technology sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and rare earths.Researching Military-Civil Fusion in China and the US defense innovation system.Compiling sources in English and Chinese.Collecting and organizing data.The ideal candidate will possess:A demonstrated interest in Asian security and technology.Research experience in technology policy or related internship experience.Working proficiency in Mandarin is helpful but not required.Candidates who are able to participate in the program on an in-person basis for 25‑40 hours per week are encouraged to apply.Close attention to detail.The ability to work independently.A positive attitude.Excellent interpersonal skills.About AEI InternshipsAEI internships offer a unique opportunity for undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to gain experience in research, writing, business, and communications at one of the nation's leading think tanks.Competitive candidates will generally have a GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university. AEI's internship program runs for 12 weeks and all related programming will take place in‑person in Washington, DC.
