This role focuses on maintaining strong security hygiene across our infrastructure, monitoring security alerts, and assisting with ongoing security improvements and compliance initiatives. This position is ideal for someone with a systems or infrastructure background who is interested in growing deeper into cybersecurity while gaining hands-on experience with modern Microsoft security technologies.Key Responsibilities Security Operations & MonitoringMonitor and investigate alerts within Microsoft Defender and Microsoft SentinelPerform security alert triage and escalate potential incidents when neededAnalyze security logs and help identify suspicious activity or misconfigurationsConduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation effortsTune alerts and monitoring to improve signal-to-noise ratioDocument investigations and contribute to incident response proceduresDeliver security awareness training and phishing simulation campaignsIdentity & Access SecurityAssist with ongoing review and improvement of Entra ID Conditional Access policiesMonitor identity-related alerts and investigate anomalous authenticationSupport privileged access monitoring and role-based access control reviewsAssist with periodic access reviews and entitlement auditsHelp enforce strong authentication and identity security practicesInfrastructure Security & PatchingHelp maintain and improve the server patch management frameworkTrack patch compliance and coordinate remediation effortsSupport vulnerability remediation efforts identified through Microsoft DefenderAssist with system hardening and configuration improvements across infrastructureWork with IT staff to maintain secure system configurationsSecurity Program SupportAssist with technical control implementation for ISO 27001 security programContribute to security documentation, procedures, and operational runbooksSupport the development of security dashboards and operational metricsHelp track and execute remediation items from the security roadmap and backlogParticipate in security awareness initiatives across the organizationRequired 2–5 years of experience in IT, systems administration, or security operationsFamiliarity with Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure environments (Hyper V preferred)Exposure to Microsoft security technologies (Defender, Entra ID, Sentinel preferred)Basic understanding of security monitoring and incident investigationKnowledge of identity and access management conceptsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and manage operational tasksExcellent documentation and technical writing abilitiesDemonstrated curiosity and desire to grow within cybersecurityPreferred Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or other SIEM platformsFamiliarity with Microsoft Defender security toolsExperience with patch management processesUnderstanding of Conditional Access or identity security conceptsExperience working with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS ControlsEqual Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled Global Power Components is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
