Armed Experienced Security Officer
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas (on foot or by vehicle) to monitor for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or security breaches.
- Emergency Response: Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies quickly and efficiently. Assess situations and take appropriate action, including using firearms when necessary to protect life and property.
- Access Control: Monitor and control access to secure areas, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors are allowed entry. Check identification and verify credentials.
- Incident Reporting: Document security incidents, accidents, or disturbances, and report them to management or law enforcement as necessary.
- Use of Force: As an armed officer, carry and use firearms according to legal and organizational guidelines, ensuring the safety of all individuals on-site.
- Risk Assessment: Continuously assess and mitigate potential threats to personnel, property, and assets. Recommend security improvements to management.
- Customer Service: Provide assistance to employees, visitors, or clients by offering information and ensuring a positive, safe environment.
- Training and Drills: Participate in regular training on firearms handling, emergency response, first aid, and other security-related topics.
- Collaboration: Work closely with law enforcement, emergency responders, and other security professionals to ensure optimal security protocols are followed.
- Compliance: Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies regarding the use of force, firearms, and security practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 35 years of security experience, preferably in armed or high-risk security environments.
- Licensing: Possession of a valid firearms license and any other relevant security certifications as required by local laws (e.g., armed security officer license).
- Training: Completion of advanced security officer training, including firearms proficiency, emergency response tactics, and conflict resolution.
- Physical Fitness: Good physical condition with the ability to handle demanding situations and long shifts.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report incidents and interact with clients, staff, and law enforcement.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure, especially in high-stress situations.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot potential risks and inconsistencies in the security environment.
Working Conditions:
- May involve working irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to potentially dangerous situations that may require physical intervention or the use of force.
- May be required to work in various environmental conditions (indoors/outdoors, varying weather).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in corporate, industrial, or government security settings.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and ability to work collaboratively with police officers and emergency personnel.
