    Position Type: Security/ Security - 12-MonthsDate Posted: 4/21/2026Location: Saint Ignatius High SchoolUnder the direction of the Senior Director of Security, the Security Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the 2nd shift Security department, including the supervision of Security personnel. The Security Supervisor directs department staff to ensure a safe and secure campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.ESSENTIAL DUTIESSupervise daily workflow, schedules, activities, and assignments of security staff. Participate in evaluating staff performance; work with employees to correct deficiencies; provide input in situations that result in employee discipline. Prepare and conduct training for new hires and current staff on a variety of security topics. Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training security staff. Investigate loss events and compile data for accurate reporting. Perform regular walk-throughs and security inspections of campuses. Serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders (i.e., School staff, community members and public service organizations). Supervise, plan, and coordinate traffic and pedestrian flow control for school activities and special events. Respond to calls and requests for service and inquiries. Attend and conduct a variety of meetings as assigned by the Senior Director of Security. Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIESPatrol and security methods and procedures. General principles of supervision and training. Regulations pertaining to the protection of buildings, property and grounds owned by Saint Ignatius High School. Safety practices and procedures. First aid and CPR. Conflict management and resolution. Principles and practices of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Operation of a computer and assigned software.ABILITY TOThink clearly and logically, use good judgment, and make rapid and logical decisions in emergencies. Remember names, faces, and details of occurrences. Plan, organize, schedule, supervise and evaluate the work of others. Train security personnel. Prepare work schedules of assigned personnel. Conduct thorough investigations. Keep complete and accurate records. Prepare concise and descriptive reports recommending actions as appropriate. Administer first aid and CPR. Maintain confidentiality. Operate a vehicle observing legal and defensive driving practices. Operate two-way radio equipment and enunciate clearly when broadcasting. Operate a computer and use related software. Send and receive emails and research information through the Internet. Operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Work independently with little direction and provide work direction to others. Make effective decisions and take independent action. Problem solves to analyze issues, create plans of action, and reach solutions. Analyze and evaluate data for specific use. Deal effectively with our students and maintain good relations with school personnel, local law enforcement personnel and the public. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Work as part of a team. Understand and be sensitive to, and respect the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of the public, students, teachers, administrators, and staff. Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relations using tact, patience, and courtesy. Maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEPossession of a High School diploma or GED, and five (5) years of related security experience is required. Possession of a bachelor's degree in a related field of study is desired.LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSValid State of Ohio driver's license and evidence of insurability.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDSRequires walking, standing and patrolling the entire campus on foot, via bicycle and patrol vehicle and upon occasion, streets and property that are contiguous to the campus.Patrolling year round, including in inclement weather; rain, snow, cold and hot weatherSince all of Saint Ignatius buildings are multi-floored considerable stair climbing is required.WORKING CONDITIONSVirtually all of the work is done on Saint Ignatius Campus within the confines of its buildings, parking lots and properties.
