Summary This position is located in a USDA Forest Service Unit. The incumbent is responsible for developing and recommending aviation objectives, plans, policies, standards, and procedures for airtanker, aerial supervision, and aircraft coordination programs.Major Duties Responsible for providing technical and programmatic oversight for fixed‑wing operations in the Region primarily for wildfire.Plan and supervise fixed‑wing operations, evaluate ground facilities, and develop and conduct training.Develop new or improved methods of utilizing aircraft for fire detection and suppression and analyze aircraft capabilities in fire‑connected missions.Serve as the principal advisor in the development and implementation of policies, programs, and standard practices for fixed‑wing operations and specialized aviation projects.Develop, review, and analyze new or proposed fixed‑wing aviation policies, procedures, and guidelines that impact a significant organizational segment of an agency.Conduct and lead reviews and inspections of Forest Service facilities and operations to assure adherence to agency policies, contract requirements, and operational plans.Supervise multiple employees.Education There are no educational requirements for this position.#J-18808-Ljbffr
