Higher Control (HICON) SMEOn Site | Offutt AFB, Bellevue, Nebraska | TS/SCI RequiredWhy This Role ExistsThe work we do has real impact, and the people behind it matter just as much.What You Will DoProvide subject matter expertise on U.S. Government, Joint Staff, and higher headquarters operational processes and coordination activities.Develop, write, review, and publish operational and strategic-level products supporting exercise objectives and training realism.Produce WARNORDs, PLANORDs, DEPORDs, EXORDs, policy memorandums, reports, meeting minutes, speech transcripts, press releases, and Secretary of War Orders Book materials.Support exercise scenario development and execution by integrating realistic higher headquarters processes and executive decision‑making activities.Coordinate with government, military, and interagency stakeholders to ensure operational consistency and exercise synchronization.Provide insight into executive agency workflows, operational planning cycles, and strategic-level communications.Assist in evaluating exercise outcomes and identifying opportunities to improve training effectiveness and operational realism.Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and exercise teams on Joint Staff and executive‑level operational processes.What We Are Looking ForRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree in strategic studies, International Affairs, Military Studies, Public Policy, or related field preferred; equivalent military operational experience may be substituted.Minimum of 7 years of experience working with U.S. Government and/or Joint Staff functions and processes.Demonstrated experience writing, developing, and publishing senior‑level operational and strategic products.Proven experience producing WARNORDs, PLANORDs, DEPORDs, EXORDs, policy memorandums, and other executive‑level documentation.Familiarity with executive‑level operational planning and coordination processes within the Department of Defense environment.Professional experience working in or directly supporting an executive agency within the Department of War, such as the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW) or Joint Staff.Strong written and verbal communication skills supporting senior‑level decision‑making environments.Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast‑paced, and collaborative exercise environments.PreferredExperience supporting Joint exercises, operational planning teams, or strategic‑level training events.Familiarity with Joint operational planning processes and Combatant Command coordination activities.Background in strategic communications, military operations, or defense policy support.Experience collaborating across military, government, and interagency organizations.Clearance and EligibilityActive TS/SCI clearance required.This role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).LocationOn site at Offutt Air Force Base, Bellevue, Nebraska.BenefitsCompetitive salaryBenefits401(k)Bonus and profit sharingFlexible hoursEducation reimbursementPTO#J-18808-Ljbffr
