Job OverviewThe Security Access Control and Alarm Technician will be the primary point of contact between the Physical and Technical Security Branch (PTSB) and the IT department, handling network requirements for new installations and documenting the specific needs of the PTSB. They will also manage passwords for non-Windows authenticated devices and assist with programming for new office locations.ResponsibilitiesSupport day‑to‑day operation of corporate access‑control and security hardware, including Istar panels, NVRs, cameras, and alarm panels.Perform hardware firmware updates and execute software updates such as critical patches, service packs, and version upgrades.Coordinate with IT teams to maintain system functionality during planned and unplanned network outages or infrastructure changes.Manage installation projects for security systems, ensuring work aligns with organizational best practices and established standards.Review, track, and resolve ServiceNow incident tickets related to hardware or system issues.Work closely with security vendors to schedule service calls, coordinate repairs, and manage procurement activities.Provide recommendations on operational procedures and evaluate emerging technologies that may enhance security operations.Support new office build‑outs by assisting with programming and configuration of access‑control and security systems.Maintain and manage passwords for non‑Windows‑authenticated devices such as Istar panels, NVRs, and cameras.Be available after hours to assist with urgent hardware or system issues as needed.Travel up to 40% of the time to support installations, maintenance activities, or regional operational needs.Qualifications3–5 years of Access Control System and Intrusion Detection System experience.3+ years of experience working with Software House CCure9000, American Dynamics, and DMP systems.Hands‑on experience updating firmware and software for panels, NVRs, cameras, and related hardware.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot security systems across complex network environments.Experience using ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM platform) to manage incident tickets.Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines without supervision.Ability to support early‑morning, after‑hours, and on‑call operational needs.Ability to travel up to 40% domestically.Eligibility to obtain a Secret security clearance.Preferred QualificationsCollege degree.Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system.Experience with AFS Best Practices for installations.Experience with Victor hardware.Experience with managing and documenting network needs for security installations.Experience with procurement processes for security hardware.Experience with AFS Information Security protocol.Experience with large‑scale corporate security environments.CompensationBase pay range for the following locations: California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland is $78,600–$160,200 USD.
