The Dispatcher will work closely with them to schedule school bus routes and support the drivers in the field. This individual will schedule and monitor the work of our drivers on daily routes. Confidence and a personable demeanor are important for building and maintaining excellent relationships with our drivers.The ideal candidate for this role has experience successfully coordinating logistics for school bus transportation, commercial transportation or similar work, is eager to learn, and is committed to providing children with consistent, safe, and reliable transportation to and from school daily safely.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSchedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needsAdjust the schedule throughout the day to accommodate emergencies and driver availability.Relay information such as route adjustments or other messages to and from drivers, supervisors, school or emergency personnelUse telephones, two-way radios or text messages to contact employees or emergency personnelSpeak with supervisors and team members to resolve problems, requests for services or equipmentPrepare daily work such as schedulesKeep and organize transportation data, inventory records and other informationServe as substitute school bus driver on a temporary basis if required. Note: Austin Achieve will provide paid training for the candidate to be fully licensed to drive a school bus if they are unlicensed at the time of hire.QualificationsExcellent communication skillsBasic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word/Google Docs, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, and Microsoft PowerPoint/Google Slides Experience with G Suite is a plusCandidate must have a satisfactory outcome of background checkUnwavering commitment to AAPS mission, scholars, families, and communityHumbly acknowledge one's strengths and weaknesses in an effort to grow professionally and push the mission of AAPS forwardAbility to join a team that has aggressive goals and professional expectations and is willing to receive and implement feedback to effectively contribute and achieve these organizational goals either independently, collaboratively, and/or under the direction and accountability of a senior staff memberEffectively uses qualitative and quantitative data to identify problems and can work with and/or lead a team to problem solve using persistence and dedication in an effort to achieve personal, department, and/or organizational goalsWillingness to engage in collegial debate with teammates regarding important decisions and rally behind decisions once they are madeRequired ExperienceCDL, Passenger, and School Bus Endorsements (preferred)#J-18808-Ljbffr
