Assistant Vice President-Construction & Real Estate at Connect Search | Staffing & RecruitingWe are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Fire Protection Estimator to execute all estimating activities during the procurement phase of construction projects. This role is crucial for delivering accurate and timely fire protection estimates and supporting functions throughout the bidding process.The Estimator will collaborate closely with internal teams, as well as external suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, contractors, consultants, and clients. This position includes regular participation in construction work acquisition, procurement, and pre-construction activities.Key Responsibilities & DutiesDocument Management: Obtain and maintain all project documents, including updates, using an organized electronic filing system.Estimating Protocol Development: Evaluate the project to establish the estimating protocol, ensuring proper break-outs, compartmentalization, and organization to facilitate data conversion to construction cost codes.System Layout & Take-offs: Complete system layout and take-offs in accordance with current internal processes.Information Management: Develop and submit pre-bid Requests for Information (RFI) and distribute responses to the internal team.Value Engineering: Consider and evaluate potential value engineering options and costs with the project team.Quote Evaluation: Evaluate and process subcontract, equipment, and material quotations to ensure the most competitive, responsible, and complete estimate, avoiding scope gaps or overlaps.Bid Preparation: Prepare and utilize the company's Estimate program, prepare bid letters, bid forms, and other related documentation.Bidding Process: Participate in pre-bid walk-through meetings (when necessary), bid review, and finalization.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage the client, consultant, or other Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) as necessary throughout the bidding process.Sales Support: Participate in pre-award sales activities, including project and scope review sessions, value engineering activities, and marketing efforts.
