Works closely with production, engineering, and operations to deliver accurate and competitive estimates across multiple disciplines.Key Responsibilities:Review and interpret specifications, drawings, and technical dataDevelop detailed labor, material, and equipment estimates for assigned work scopesPerform takeoffs and build itemized task lists for project executionEvaluate subcontractor requirements and assist with bid solicitationsCoordinate with production teams to validate scope, methods, and resource needsApply practical knowledge of mechanical, structural, and marine systems when developing estimatesAnalyze project requirements and make informed decisions in a fast‑paced environmentRequirements:5+ years of experience in marine estimating, ship repair, or related field experienceStrong understanding of shipyard operations, including structural, mechanical, and production processesStrong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand how systems are built, repaired, installed, and sequenced in a production environmentAbility to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentsExperience developing labor, material, and equipment estimatesFamiliarity with subcontractor coordination and bid processesStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skillsAbility to communicate effectively with production teams, vendors, and leadershipAlabama Shipyard is an equal opportunity employer.
