Overview Operational Technology Security Design Specialist (Senior or Mid-Level) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Information Digital Technology & Security (ITD&S) organization is seeking a Operational Technology Security Design Specialist (Senior or Mid-Level) to join the team in North Charleston, SC; Everett, WA; Kent, WA; Seattle, WA; Berkeley, MO; Portland, OR; or Ridley Park, PA. The selected candidate will serve as the Operational Technology (OT)/Industrial Control Systems (ICS) security analyst to design secure system architectures for critical infrastructure, and will implement network segmentation, access controls, and intrusion detection systems. Their expertise will ensure reliable operations in OT/ICS environments.Position Responsibilities Define, develop, integrate, design and maintain security technical controls in a variety of IT/OT environments and systemsDefine security product specifications, tools and techniques for intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, configuration hardening, and access methodsReview design data elements (threat models, data flow diagrams, requirements, etc.) along with known vulnerabilities associated with OT systems and create designs and recommendations that lower or eliminate security riskEngage in root cause analysis for incidents, identifying and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrencesDesign and review network architectures for OT environments, including routing protocols, VLANs, and subnettingImplement cybersecurity measures to protect OT networks from internal and external threatsMonitor network traffic for anomalies and respond to security incidentsDevelop and enforce security policies and procedures in line with industry standardsConduct/participate regular network assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvementCollaborate with teams to integrate OT and IT networks where applicableMaintain detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and security protocolsWork closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and IT, to support network requirementsProvide training and support to personnel on network best practices and cybersecurity awarenessBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) 3+ years of experience with Operational Technology3+ years of experience with an Information Security domain3+ years of experience with delivering architecture & design solutions supporting data security1+ years of experience performing network security implementations or assessmentsAbility to travel both domestically and internationallyPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) 1+ years of experience with industry standard routing principles (RIP, OSPF, VPN, IPSEC, Static Routing, etc.)Experience with industrial networking standards (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus)Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443)Experience with IT and cybersecurity risk fundamentalsCurrently hold or have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months1+ years of experience with the DevSecOps lifecycleExperience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologiesComfortability leveraging AI/LLMs to improve work quality and efficiencyExperience using scripting languages: Make, Perl, Python, shell scripts, etc.Other Notes Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Export Control Requirement: This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
