Meaningful Work and Personal Impact A Systems Technician at GDIT will provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware to support complex government, defense, and intelligence projects.Responsibilities Provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support of information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.Offer Unix and Windows hardware support, troubleshooting and diagnosing internal inquiries and work requests related to maintenance of personal computers and related systems.Install and upgrade computers, printers, scanners, phones, and other critical hardware.Conduct back‑end device configuration, manage security settings, and protocols.Coordinate deployment of deliverables and products.Provide troubleshooting and support for various systems.Participate in the administration of multiple critical network systems.Track project studies, plans, action items, and other project documentation.Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.Lift up to 75 lbs and maneuver through small spaces to pull or run fibers under the floor.Work independently to resolve complex issues with critical systems.Replace servers or server parts as necessary.Perform a 12‑hour shift schedule from 5PM to 5AM, including weekends and some holidays.Participate in special projects as required.What You'll Need to Succeed Education: Associate of Arts or Associate of Science.Experience: 5+ years of related experience.Technical skills: understanding of desktop computers, thin clients, servers, VoIP phones, video conferencing, cabling standards, installation, systems administration, testing equipment, and ITIL best practices.CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD Information Assurance (IA) certification.Security clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph.US citizenship required.Role requirements: On‑site work.Additional Information Privileged users will be subject to additional IT system monitoring and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to privileged user processes and procedures.
