Job Description:

Missoula County is creating a hiring list for Probationary Detention Officer positions. These are full-time opportunities with many benefits! The rate of pay for this position is $31.75 per hour.

The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is seeking Probationary Detention Officers to join their team. These positions perform work involved with the supervision, care and transport of Detention Center inmates and related activities as assigned. This is an entry level probationary position used for training and evaluation of a probationary officer at the Missoula County Detention Facility and at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy.

We are accepting completed application submissions until July 24, 2026 . It is in your best interest to apply by this date. Applicant testing will occur in Missoula Montana on August 1, 2026. Remote testing is not available. Eligible applicants will receive an email inviting them to the testing event. That email will be sent sometime the week of July 27, 2026.
