Description
Job Summary:
- EMD all 911 and non-emergency calls received in dispatch.
- Appropriately dispatch and provide directions to all ambulance calls.
- Maintain situational awareness of the need of the 911 system.
- Maintain all paperwork and keep records as required by a dispatcher.
- Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
- Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
Qualifications
Education: High school graduate (or equivalent). Prefer the following current certifications: priority dispatch EMD and EFD, APCO and CPR.
Experience: Dispatch experience preferred but not required.
Additional Skills/Abilities: General typing and computer skills, Spillman CAD system, Microsoft Office IE: (Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook). Professional communication skills with the ability to communicate with 911 callers, patients, coworkers, doctors, nurses. Excellent customer service skills. ICS courses required are 100, 200, 700, and 800. Preferred ICS Courses: 701, 702, 703, and 704.
