OverviewThis role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.ResponsibilitiesDevelops, administers and provides fire protection services for the safeguarding of people, the environment, and property consistent with company or government requirements.Responds to calls for fire protection, conducts service checks for fire protection equipment. Plans and provides inspections for fire protection systems, fire extinguishers, building inspections, and related inspections.Responds to calls for emergencies to include hazardous material incidents, technical rescue, confined space rescue, fire incidents, emergency medical emergencies, and performs incident command roles.Conducts inspection and testing of fire protection equipment, valves, hydrants and fire suppression equipment.Issuance of permitting for hot work, confined space and excavation tasks for company and contract personnel.Ensures compliance with written policies and procedures in all phases of company operations.Interfaces with government agencies, local and state level fire agencies.Conducts fire inspections for company offices, building projects, and completes fire inspection reports.Completes building preplans for fire and emergency response and prepares reports for preplanning.QualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Kansas Certified EMT, AEMT or Paramedic7+ years of progressive fire service or EMS experienceAbility to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship)Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Firefighter I and IIFire InspectorHAZMAT technicianTechnical Rescuer technicianARFFNIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700Drug Free WorkplaceWe are a Drug Free Workplace wherein post‑offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & BenefitsWe strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage, and retain top talent.
