This role focuses on performance‑oriented software development, automation, data analysis, and collaboration across engineering teams to generate actionable performance insights that support mission‑critical decision‑making. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop software solutions focused on post‑processing analysis tools and visualizations used to assess system performanceWrite high‑performance Java and Python code to support analysis, tooling, and automation effortsRefactor legacy software components to improve scalability, latency, and resource utilizationConduct deep‑dive performance studies and generate actionable insightsRecommend architectural or algorithmic improvements based on performance findingsMaintain, evolve, and troubleshoot the Jenkins and HTCondor automation platform, including pipeline jobs, scripts, and pluginsCollaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to understand and perform high‑level performance analysisCreate analysis documentation, technical briefings, and present findings to stakeholdersMaintain and update analysis utilities, visualization dashboards, and data exploration notebooksEnsure analysis tools and artifacts are well documented and kept currentTranslate existing MATLAB‑based tools into Java and Python implementationsStay current with emerging Java and Python performance techniques, CI/CD tools, and database technologies, and proactively introduce improvements REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Software development experience focused on performance analysis and assessment toolingProficiency in Java and Python developmentExperience refactoring legacy code to improve performance, scalability, and efficiencyExperience developing analysis tools, visualizations, or post‑processing utilitiesExperience creating technical documentation and briefing analysis resultsAbility to collaborate across engineering teams to support performance assessment activitiesStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills EDUCATION Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience ORMaster's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience LOCATION Full-Time / On-SiteHuntsville, AL
